RN Debbie on 7C

Today was game day in Little Rock-and of course we didn’t know. We only thought traffic was bad before.

The Michelin Man is on his way back only this time he has a hot pink face. Apparently this is new to the clinic nurses - they checked on him constantly and gave him 2 injections of Benedryl. It didn’t do much but make him sleeper than he already was. Everyone at 7C was in high spirits especially since the Hogs were doing so well! The labs and pharmacy were extremely slow - guess they were watching the game, too. We had to wait a couple of hours for lab results and then another couple for a magnesium infuser. At least Mark got to watch the game while he waited. We complain about having to wait but when were home we had to wait days for the lab results, so this is really quick. We are just spoiled since it usually takes about an hour.

Mark was starving when we got home - wanted hotdogs and chips, then pimento cheese and then the Rotel dip ( that the girls make) with chips and now he wants oatmeal cookies. I told him I was tired of cooking so he ate banana nut bread with cream cheese - all this in the last three hours. The dexamethasone makes him VERY hungry. We still don’t know why he is so pink. The nurses took him off one of his drugs, but it hasn’t made any difference yet. Chemo is a bad boy!!

He just realized that Christmas is only 35 days away. Sure hope we get home before Santa gets here!! I have set up the beautiful Nativity Linda gave me for my birthday - our only Christmas decoration. I may go out and cut the holly with red berries that they have just planted around the apartments- think they would mind???

Thank you for your prayers. Please give our thanks to all the wonderful churches that are praying for us. We know God listens to those prayers.

I am going to cook supper, Mark is hungry!

Much love, Karen
