Good Sunday night.

I pray everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know a few of our beloved friends and family members are broken hearted over ball game outcomes (probably a few really happy too). As the Alabama Roll Tide fan told me this morning - we have 363 more days to rub this in! OH JOY!

Mark is still feeling pretty good, we heard a few rumbling of war in his stomach this morning, but he seems to be holding his on right now. All of his blood counts have bottomed out so he recieved platelets today. We have been trying very hard to keep all his chemistries balanced - he even drank coconut water (he hates coconut!) it is very high in potassium. I used to look at the calories on the labels now it is the magnesium and potassium! He is five days out from transplant and they tell us he will be watched for 15 to 20 days after. We continue to be amazed at the care Mark is receiving. Everything is double checked before it is administered and they watch all his counts. Every day he is weighed, pulse and blood pressure taken sitting and standing, blood oxygen checked and then lab work. If anything is askew they jump on it!

Everyone here is getting ready for Christmas too- hanging their light and putting up decorations. I did get a plastic wreath and a pre-made bow for our door. Mark can’t have any live plants so I just sucked it up and bought a fake wreath. At least it is red and green……….I can see Linda’s eyes rolling back in her head!!

Everyone at the clinic has the same hope and optimism we have for getting out of here before Christmas, except for one couple that just started today. She is from California and says she is staying and getting through with this!!! Maybe they will let her.

Thank you for your caring bridge notes. It makes our days. Please remember us in your prayers.

Love, Karen
