Well, first I must get something off my chest from last Saturday.

WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!
KICK BUTT AUBURN!!!

OK, now I feel better and I know you do too.

We are home as most of you know and we truly feel like we have returned from OZ. The people at UAMS are scary smart. They are now projecting that a person diagnosed with this stuff has an 80% chance of living 15 years. Folks that’s a lot of golf, wine, Mexican food, Waffle house visits and Auburn football games. That’s a lot of hugging people you love and some you don’t like. That’s being able to watch your kids and grandkids spend your retirement. I love it!! Is this a great country or what?

As the song goes, “I hope to be in that number.” Amen brother!!

Now that we are back for a few weeks .. there truly is no place like home. I have gotten up every morning and walked my 2 miles and was teary eyed the whole time.

I wanted to tell all of you how much we need and appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Whether you post on this site or not. Just to know that you are calling on God is enough. It does matter!!

Now that I have a new do …. thinking of getting a biker ear ring and “Love Mom” tat. What do you think?

SIDE NOTES AND VICIOUS RUMORS

· Florida will be beaten this year

· Alabama will be beaten this year

· LSU coach once said about Bear Bryant; “he can take yourn and beat hissin and then take hissen and beat yourn

· I can relate to the above quote as my high school coaches were off of two of Bears national championship teams. Charlie Stephens was head coach and Dan Kearley was line coach. Kearley made All American at Alabama playing nose guard. You talk about some football stories. Needless to say our team was a replica of Alabama. It was tough..saw several players quit during 4 years. We half expected Bear himself to show up our senior year and give all of us scholarships for being the Alabama farm team. However that did not happen…but we had about 11 seniors with scholarships to other schools our senior year. Back then we had 2 weeks in the summer where we practiced twice a day. This was called 2 a days. Dressed in full pads on the field 6:00 Am practice till 10:30 then report back that afternoon at 4:00 PM full pads practice till dark. We referred to it as “Hell weeks”. And it was. So when the Doc let us go home this week I related it to 2 a days in football. It was hell but sweet when it was over.

· Has Aunt Bet bought any tickets or discussed any travel plans… I really need a heads up on this subject from the cuzins.

· One of my favorite passages:

Ecclesiastes

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labor which thou takest under the sun. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
