4.4 million stem cells

Hello from Little Rock,

Just got 4.49 million stems cells transplanted this morning at 11:30...no problems!!! Dismissed us at 2:00. Karen and I went to BBQ hut and pigged out, again. I think I am sick of BBQ. Anyway still real puffy, but got home and walked 1.5 miles to get some bones moving. Helped (very little) Karen clean up apartment.

I will not be reviewing any wine tonight as it is not on the list of specified liquids to drink.

SIDENOTES AND VICIOUS RUMORS

1. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding

2. Alabama will be beat this week

3. I have decided to quit watching tv (except football) absolutely nothing worthwhile for the soul and we wonder what’s wrong with our nation!!!

4. Eating boiled peanuts and raw oysters ...now that’s really living!!

Please continue to pray for us,
Mark

View from the other one..........
We may never want creamed corn again! Mark reeks of it - the preservative that is in the stem cells caused him to smell like creamed corn! It is too weird!

The transplant went great. We were there at 9:30 to begin the prep - fluids, benedryl, oxygen, etc. - all given to help prevent any reaction. The transplant was started at 11:30. It took all of 15 minutes to give him 4.49 million stem cells. (the photo is of all 4.49 million) He has 27.10 million (7 bags) of stem cells left for future use. After the transplant he was monitored for a couple of hours to make sure all was well. We celebrated by going to get BBQ at Chips, which he has now decided he doesn’t like. Reminds me of 4 year old Luke after his 4th piece of pie - “I don’t believe I like it”.

Mark wrapped up and went for a walk this afternoon. We had about four hours of wonderful sunshine, but it was still very windy and cool. I stayed in and cleaned. The pink flush on Mark’s face has about subsided, but he still has the extra fluid. The nurses told us it should be gone in the next two days.

I can’t wait for these next couple of weeks to be over . I pray Mark will be in total remission and we can go home for Christmas! That would be the best gift ever!

Much love to you all,

Karen
